10th November, horror movie poster

I opened up photo shop and chose an image of myself to edit and use in my horror poster. I chose a close up image of myself because it creates more of an effect on the audience by showing any detail that wouldn't be as easy to see if the image was further away.

I haven't really used photoshop much before so I had to ask for help on editing my piece quite a few times but I feel confident now that I could do a basic edit on a picture without having to ask for help e.g getting rid of blemishes, cloning and adding text to the image etc.

I have really enjoyed making this poster as I got to use photoshop and learn more about it. I also enjoyed having my make-up done and having my pictures taken last week with Steve in order to help create the poster.

I have named my horror movie 'Discovery' because I think that it sounds quite sinister and will make people wonder what it might be about and possibly make them want to watch the movie to find out.

I like how we used green lighting when taking the pictures in the studio because it really adds a sort of 'spookynes' to the image and helps it to stand out. Also I thought it was a good idea to use a typical bright red colour for the text 'Discovery' because people usually automatically assume it is a horror move if the text s bright red. The style of text I have used for the title is from the website www.dafont.com
